I started Active Circuits Ltd in 2009 after returning to New Zealand from an extended stay in the United Kingdom where I specialised in PCB design. To reinforce the skills I had learnt "on the job" over the years I completed both the IPC PCB Designer Certification, CID, and the Advanced PCB Designer Certification, CID+, the only internationally recognised PCB designer accreditation.
I have been fortunate in my past employment to be able to work on a wide variety of boards and materials from simple 2 layer boards to 8 layer high speed boards with fine pitch BGA's and complicated Flexible circuits. Having a strong background in production engineering enables me to fully understand design for manufacture and incorporate into my designs subtle features to ease assembly.
I take great pride in my work, not just the functionality and accuracy but that the designs are aesthetically pleasing.
